JCH Concrete and Hardscapes

About us

Built on honest work.

We started Josephson Concrete and Hardscapes on a simple idea: outdoor work should last and it should look right. We earned our first jobs with clean work and clear communication, and that is still how we get most of them, one neighbor telling another.

A small crew, on purpose

We are a small crew out of Cokato, which means the person you talk to at the estimate is on the job. No sales rep, no subcontractor you have never met. We answer the phone, we call back the same business day, and if something is not going to work on your lot, we say so before you spend money on it.

Three trades under one truck

We pour concrete, we set stone, and we fix shorelines. Most yards around here need more than one of those. A patio needs a wall to hold the grade. A lake lot needs the bank stabilized before the steps go in. A pool deck needs a paver border that drains. Doing all of it with one crew means the grades match, the schedule is one schedule, and nothing falls between contractors.

What we get right before anything shows

Almost every cracked, heaved, or sunken slab we replace failed underneath, months before the first crack. So we spend our effort where you will never see it: digging out topsoil and compacting a gravel base, building footings and walls for the 42-inch frost depth Wright County builds to, pitching every surface away from the house, and saw-cutting control joints where the concrete will crack anyway. How we pour concrete that holds up here.

We treat every job like it is for our own family

That is not a slogan. It is the easiest way we know to decide how to do something. It is why we tell people when a smaller job would solve their problem, why we clean up when we leave, and why we give out our number for anything that ever moves.

Where we work

Cokato is home. Dassel, Howard Lake, Annandale, Maple Lake, Buffalo, Delano, Hutchinson, Litchfield, Watertown, Winsted, and Montrose are regular routes, about 30 minutes in any direction. We will go further for the right project. Where we work.

Go look at the work

Every job on the projects page is a short drive from Cokato. Call and ask for an address. The owners do not mind, and the joints tell you more than we can.

We come out, look at the grade and the soil, and give you a real number. No pressure and no design fee. If we are not the right fit for the job, we will tell you who is.

We call back the same business day. Photos help: text them to the number above.
